Today Indigenous Americans have less than 5% of their homelands. If you live in the United States, chances are you live in native ancestral lands. Indigenous Americans are disproportionately affected by climate change because of long-standing cultural traditions, sustainable stewardship practices, and livelihoods that rely on the lands.
Currently, in Minnesota, the Anishinaabe tribe and environmentalists are fighting Line 3, a proposed pipeline expansion that would put Anishinaabe lands at risk of depleted watersheds, harvests, oil spills, and more. Indigenous American voices are vital when understanding environmental justice, environmental racism, land management, and climate policy.

Hello, my name is [your name]. I am a constituent from [state, city, zip code]. May I leave a message for President Biden?
After you reach a staff member or voicemail from President Biden’s office:
Hello, my name is [your name]. I am very concerned about the Enbridge Line 3 pipeline in Minnesota. I urge President Biden to please stop the construction of the Line 3 pipeline. The pipeline will damage Indigenous Lands and put nearby citizens and reservations at risk of COVID-19 this summer. Native Americans are more likely to die from preventable illnesses than other Americans, and an influx of workers puts safety at risk. Please consider this request; it will help many lives and protect our environment. Thank you for your time!
